SOME GOOD SPORT. I Despite the wintry conditions prevailing, th© Christckurch Coureing Club bold a successful meeting on the Sookburn enolosure on Saturday afternoon. 'There werb good' entiies in each of the two events decided, snd some good ooursing was witnessed. The cold weather, however, made the hares stiff and thera wore mora than the usual number o* hills. A now airangqment which worked successfully was the use of a. high tripod for the judge's eeat, thus giving, him a moro <»av mantling ■view «f eaoh course. The Merivale Maiden Stakes we're won, by Mr E. E. Topp's dog, Our Duster, who won in the final course .from Mr J. Fox's Mith. The Canterbury All Ag«d Open Stakes went to Mr B. Hartley's Better Luck, With Mr J. McMillan's Awake as runner-tip. Better Luck coursed well,. although she was suffering' from a- eprained fore leg. She has » great turn,of speed and is an adept at turning the bare to
her own advantage.
