MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING.
ELLESMERE ASSOCIATION.
The first annual meeting of the newlyformed Ellesmere Miniature Rifle Association was held on Wednesday evening, at Lakeside,' when three delegates from each of Lakeside-Sedgemere, Doyleston and Southbridge clubs were present. Officers were elected as follows:—Patron, Hon. Sir Heaton Rhodes; president, Mr A. Aymes; vice-presidents, the president of each club affiliated to the Association; honorary secretary and treasurer, Mr D. rtayes. ... The secretary was instructed to write to various gentlemen in the district where there were no rifle clubs, to explain the ideas of the Association, in the hope that these gentlemen would be successful in arranging meetings in their respective districts, as a forerunner to tlic promotion of now clnbs. It was agreed that if any such meetings could be arranged, delegates from the Association' would attend. , A motion was carried that the executive of the Association for the first yeaT should consist of three delegates from each club, including the president, vice-presidents and secretary. The idea of the Association is to promote and foster miniature rifle shooting in Ellesmere, and with this end in view, the Association hopes to be able to offer suitable challenge trophies for competition amongst the various clubs.
It was resolved to draw tip subscription lists for the raising of funds for the purchase of suitable trophies, and each club was aeked to do its utmost to assist.
The next meeting: of the Association was arranged for tbe#Gth inst., by which'time it is hoped that, sufficient funds will be available for the purchase of trophies, and competition shoots can be arranged witbjut delay. , '■ • . ,
