RAILWAY VICTIMS' FINE COURAGE.

All business places were closed and flags half-masted at Gympie during the funeral of four of the victims of the railway 'disaster. All the injured spen.t a comfortable night. Passengers tell of th=> heroism of the injured and praise the bravery of the rescuers.
Dr. J. Stopford, Home Secretary, who was a passenger to Brisbane on the Roekhampton mail, which was waiting a few miles tho line for the ill-fated train to pass, expressed the opinion that no praise for the work of the rescuers could be too great.
Doctors, railway officials, ■ ambulance men, nurses, hospita(l authorities, and volunteers, both men and women, discarded every consideration but that of caring for the injured. Dr. Stopford also stated that the general behaviour of the injured was magnificent. The fortitude of some of them was amazing.
