(PBESB ASSOCIATION TELZGBAIf.)

WANGANUI, June 11,

The 'stranded steamer Cyrena is to be abandoned to the underwriters. It has been found that the 6hip was floated off twice, but her draught, 22ft aft, was too much to allow, the steamer to enter the port here, and she was damaged too severely structurally to permit her making the voyage to'jiuother port. Later. A southerly gale is blowing, and the sea,is very rough. The Cyrena started to break up shortly before two o'clock this afternoon.
