A novel example of tho community spirit has been demonstra'-etl in a ptn in the Wellington Zoo where a pair of pukekos (tho New Zealand swamp biml) and a pair of blue garlinute arthoused (states our correspondent). All the birds are very much-alike and the first signs of the community spirit were observed when it Aras found that the four of them were taking part in the building of one nest. Then a couple of eggs appeared—no more—nn.i no one could determine to which pair the egg* belonged, the pukekos or the gallurole; if one belonged to each pair, or if thoy were half and half.
