ADDINGTON MARKET.
HEAVY ENTRIES. STORE SHEEP EASIER. (Br OCB COKMtHCIAL ZDIIOE.) Entries at the weekly market at Addition yesterday were on the heavy s ide. Particularly was this so in the fat cuttle and lat sheep sections. Gencrallv- the sale was a good one. Fat cattle, as a result of the excess yarding, were easier in price, but the demand was satisfactory until the concluding stages, when sales were hard to mako. ■rat sheep met with a brisker sale, there being an all-round advance of Is to Is Cd a head. The demand for store sheep shpwrd an casing off, the earlier uart of the auction being distinctly dragging. The cold wintry day had an effect on the attendance of fanners, which was much smaller than usual. STORE SHEEP. For the time of the rear there was a I? >'* tdin & of sto "e Bhcep, a draft from a fcorth Canterbury station swelling the entry considerably. Tho offering consisted mainly of hoggets. In the early, stages of tho sale tho demand was very weak, and more than .a dozen pens -were offered before a salo took place. Old ewes, of which there wore a fairly largo number forward, sold very indifferently. As tho sale progressed tho demand improved a good deal, but prices were well below these of last week, .more especially for wether hoggets. Odd pens of sound-mouthed ewes sold fairlv well. A consignment of Xorth Island ew.es, landed a week or more ago, sold moderately well. Values were:— Forward four and six-tooth halfbred "wethers 32s to 345.
