RESCUE IN THE CHANNEL. (B5 CABLE—PREBS ASSOCIATION—COPKBIGHI.) (BEUTEB's TELEGBAMS.) (Received June 10th, 11.10 p.m.) LONDON, June 9. The French balloon "Grand Charles," competing in the- Gordon Bennett race, descended in the Charihei and sank. The occupants were picked up in an exhausted condition and taken to hospital. Another French balloon "Picardie," landed at Anneville, in the Department of Manche at Quimpers (Finisterre). The Belgian balloon "Belgia," piloted by De Muyher, who won the Gordon Bennett Cup outright for the past three years, also landed near Quimpers.
