The International Labour Conference adopted, by 81 votes to 26, the draft convention prohibiting night baking. The representative of the British Government, in submitting amendments, said that even if they wore accepted, Britain could not commit herself to the Convention since the prohibition 1 of night baking would•'result in increased costs if the supply of bread was to continue as at present. The British amendments were rejected.
