KREISLER.

' GENERAL PLAN OPENED. The management announce that the general plan for the 15s scats for Kreisler's one and only Christchurch recital in the Theatre Soya! on Saturday nest is now open at The Bristol, where extensive booking is proceeding apace. So much has been said and .written of. this supreme genius of the violin that it would be a work of supererogation to further stress the importance of Fritz Kreisler's visit, and there can be no doubt about the welcome "that Christchurch will give him on Saturday next. Sufficient to say that Kreisler comes at the summit of his success, and, according to all records, he has never yet failed to capture a city or an audience in any part of the world. He himself is one of the shyest, moat retiring of men, his one great delight being to get away ■ into a corner and play his beloved Guarnerius. His pianist. Mr Lampson, says that he has sat and listened spellbound to the masters impromptu playing and has been almost broken-hearted at the thought that such efforts were, fugitive find would never be heard by other ears than his. Dr. V. It. Galway, president of: the Otaeo Society of Musicians, writes in the "Otago ■D?} 1 ? Times":—Kreisler is so completely and without dispute the greatest violinist in the world to-day that it would be a thousand pities if he were to suffer for the -shortcomings of previous visitors. There is seldom unanimity of oninion as to the grading of artists, but there seems in Great Britain. Europe and America to be very little controversy as to the fact that Kreisler is undoubtedly the greatest violinist. Their asals the greatest 'cellist." Their ExcelExcellencies the Governor-General and Lady Alice Fergusson and suite will attend the Chrstchurcb recital. The management wish it to be understood that there ax© still some choice seats left.
