ESTATE OF H. L. ANDERSON. , A meeting of creditors in the bankrupt estate of Henry Leslie Anderson church), mechanic, was to .have been held ytsleiday at the office cf the Official Assignee, but it lapsed for want of a 1 quorum. In Ids sworn etateniont bankrupt said that he left New Zealand with, the- .Thirty-eighth Reinforcements, when he owed about £IOO, business debts contracted in Dunedin. He returned- to New Zealand in 1919, and was out of'work for some time. Subsequently he was able'to get employment in a injtor garage in Waunate.' His wife, and two children remained in Tvmaru, and. ho obtained an advanco-of £SO from the Repatriation.Department to purchase furniture. He came to Christchurch about four years ego and puichased a hcuse in "Western .terrace, Beckenhain, .bciig financed under the soldier ecttlers' scheme. He Subsequently got into financial difficulties, and hi;-j property was sold at a loss bv the Lands Department. He owed practically all the money ho borrowed to pay for the furniture, and recently judgment was entered against him for about £2O in an action which was a sequel to a motor collision. His wages had recently been raksd from £6 to £6 10s a week, but ho paid £1 5s a week rent, and was unable to make any proposition to hi? creditors. Thevs vas a deficiency shown amounting to £l3O 6s 6d. The. sum of £lO5 16s 6d was owing to unsecured creditors, and '.to secured creditors £49 10s, but ihe .security was set down at £25, leaving a rteiicit ot £-2flfe. There were no assets except what was covered by the mortgage. ■ The principal unsecured creditors were: Crown Lands Department £4O 'J* « and C 0.,, Ltd., £lO 17s 6d. Arthur Tmdall £l9 17s. W. Gcss, Ltd., £lO.
