Fifteen hundred delegates at Toronto opened the first conference marking the union of the Presbyterian, Methodist and Congregational Churches of Canada into one great body, known as "The United Churches of CanaJa." There are 8700 congregations, with a total membership of 2,500,000. A number of Presbyterian antiUnionists, consisting chiefly of Old Country people, are staying • outside, calling themselves the Continuing Presbyterians. TO VISIT AUSTRALIA.
