A JOINT COMMITTEE. Headway i 3 being made Avitn the Mayor's proposal to establish a Public titwties Committee, it was reported to the City Council last night that an informal conference of engineers, of the various local authorities' operating within the city boundaries was held, at which it was decided that the formation of such a committee as was (suggested was most advisable. In consequence of that decision, the various local authorities were written to, outlining the suggestion of the Public Utilities . Committee, and asking for authority for the several engineers concerned to act on the committee. It was pointed out that such a committee would be purely an advisory one. The Council appointed the City Engineer and the General Manager, Electricity Department to represent the Council on the Public Utilities Committee.
