~ ANNUAL MEETING. ■ •T'l'h'e seventh annual general meeting of tho Canterbury Justices of the Pcaco Association was held last night. In the ! -absence of tho president, Mr E. ,C. Bishop in his illness, and a hopo expressed, for his speedy restoration to health.- • The report and balance-shoot, which have been published,.were adopted. y Tho election of officers resulted as follows':-—Patron, .his Honour Mr Justice Adams; vice-patrons, Messrs H. Simcs and I carried, that it bo a recommendation to the executive that it bring before tho Minister of Justice that it is prepared to-.offer its services to tho Minister of Justice or the Senior .S.M. to advise with ! reference to names' submitted to tlw Minister as possible, Justices of tho Peace.
