CAR IN A BAKER'S SHOP.
TERMINATION OP A JOY RIDE. (PBE33 ASSOCIATES TSWUIX.) AUCKLAND. Juno ?. A joy ride in a motor-car came to a sudden ond before it had well begun at Devenport last evening, when a aareaseater Cadillac car crashed into a baker's shop, smashing in a window, and scattering cakes in all directions. The car is owned by Mrs A'Deane, of Hawke's Bay, who is staying at tho Esplanade Hotel. The car was left outside the hotel at C.15 pan. while Mrs A'Deane" was at tea. • Two men entered the car shortly after and drove up Victoria road. The driver apparently was not experJewwd, and drove into a bakery owned by McGregor and Montgomery. The plate glass window was shattered ana the verandah supports broken. The froafc of the car was badly damaged and the axle broken. One man. woo was slightly injured, was arrested running awav, and the other was arrested about midnight." The car. which was practically new, was valued at £I4BO.
