Secretary of State for Air, at a special function at Pulham Airdrome, presented medals to the chief officers of R33. end inscribed gold watehes to the rest of the crew. Sir Samuel said that their skill had converted what might have been a catastrophe into a great benefit to airship development, from which flights to Australia and New Zealand had been, brought nearer. CIRCLING THE GLOBE. ROME, June 5. Major de Pinedo plans to attempt a world flight simultaneously with his departure from Tokyo to cross the Pacific. A squadron of airplanes is leaving Italy for America to escort him home. The squadron will use transatlantic passenger .vessels as aids, descending to them in case- of need for sparo parts or other help.
FLIGHT ROUND GERMANY. BERLIN. June 5. In the third stage of the flight round Germany by light airplanes, FlightPilot Polto made fastest time from 1» others, covering the 600 miles in 6-31 minutes. A later message says that thirty-one out of thirty-four machines have arrived, completing the third lap of the round Germany flight. Thirty-two, including six "baby" machines, have started on the fourth lap.
