THE CATHEDRAL ORGAN.
DISMANTLING OPERATIONS. The dismantling of the Cathedral organ will not' take place until July, states the "Church News," on account of shipping arrangements. The new Holt organ (a two manual ajid pedals instrument) has arrived, however, iu good time. The Organ Committee of the Cathedral Chapter has been considering the arrangement of the rebuilt organ, and it has now been decided that the console will be placed in the gallery over the south vestry, as the position suggested on the chancel floor does not give sufficient room and would seriously interfere with the present seating arrangements. The gallery position within the chancel is also expected to give better contact with the choir. While the Chapter will no t be able to afford to put an ornamental case about the renovated organ, the big outside pipes will be so arranged as to fit in with a tentative design that is being worked out for the Chapter by Mr C. "Wood against the time when it will be jjossjble to case the organ.
