THEATRE ROYAL TO-NIGHT. To-night, at the Theatre Royal, Miss Mario Burke and J. C. Williamson's Musical Comedy Company will present for tho first time to playgoers of Christchurch the famous Viennese opera, "The Cousin From Nowhere," which has proved successful in Europo and America, and which was even more popular in Australia than "Wildflowcr." - "The Cousin From Nowhere" contains pretty music, charming musical numbers, exquisite ballets, brilliant ensembles, clover and original comedy, and it also unfolds a fascinating and -very interesting lovo romance. Reports from Australia t,re to tho effect that Miss. Marie Burke's singing and acting of the part cf Julia van Osten helped considerably to make "The Ccitrin From Nowhere" the outstanding success oi Sydney last year. Miss Floio Allen is already popularly known to local playgoers, principally through her excellent performance fn "The Cabaret Girl," when sho last visited New Zea'.and, but it is generally admitted in Australia 'that she ha-j scored her greatest triumph as Freda in "The Cousin From Nowhere." Tho iart gives this talented young artist every opportunity for tho display of her genius for creating genuine laughter. Mr Gus Bluett is one of the best comedians./ the Australian s'ago ha? known, and he, toj, is at his best in "The Cousin From Xowheic." Tho pait of Adrian van Piffel gives Mr Bluett unlimited scope for funmaking, and it is said that ih e has his- audience in screams of laughter the whole time he is one the stage. Mr Noel Allan's excellent baritono vo'ce receives its best chanco in tho music allotted the role of The Stransrer, and a powerful includes Charles Zoli, Herbert Walton, Stanley Odgers, Harry Schofield, and Miss Mario Le Vane. The picturesque staging is one of the features of tho comedy. Only tho four performances can be staged of "The Cousin from Nowhere, as tho company will leave for Tiraaru and Dunedia en Friday. . .
