Nearly 60 per cent, of the meals served in the House of Commons during the 1924 session were teas, which totalled more than double the number of dinners served, according to a report from the Select Committee of the House of Commons (Kitchen and Refreshment Eooms) issued recently. With the increase in the number of sittings to 141 from 114 in 1923, an additional 38,034 meals -were served during last session. The total for 1924 was 179,757, and the receipts £37,065. The fact that there were fewer allnight sittings in-1924 than in 1923 is reflected in the- number of breakfasts served—3o against '247. There is also a big reduction in suppers. There was a profit of £lO5 on the year.
