IVY OF LINWOOD LODGE, U.A.O.D.
A summoned meeting- of the Ivy of Linwood was held in tho Orange Hall. There was «v.record attendance. A.D. Bro. Geo. Russell presided. The Bards reported visiting .tho sick brothers on their list and.eick !pay (£l2) was passed for payment. Bros. Bates and Luxton reported attending the quarterly meeting of the U.F.S. Dispensary and again stressed the ■ importance of Friendly Society members making tho dispensary their shopping centre, also tho importance of presenting the certificate to the hospital before the patient leaves. Tho balance-sheet of the Lodge was presented by the secretary, and was reported on by {he auditors, Bros. Widdowson and Legge, who warmly congratulated the Lodge, also the secretary and treasurer on the very sub. stantial progress made during the past halfyear The following brethren gained the coveted chairs :-A.D., Bro. W. Griffith; V.A., Bro. H. Tonkin; secretary, Bro./A. E. Palmer; treasurer, Bro. H. B. Luxton; minutes secretary, Bro. F. Legge; In. Gn., Bro. iA. Biogg; Ot Gn., Bro. P. Irvine; A.D. Bards, Bro. C. Dunford. J. Childs and G. Fisher; V.A. Barde, .T. Bierman and Hi Carter; musician, Bro. H. Ballon; auditor, Bro. F. Legge; Distress Committee, A D., V.A., Secrotary, Treasurer, three A.D. Bards, and P.A. Bros. G. Bates and E. Widdowson. The installation of tho officers was impressively conducted by D.P. Bro. T. W. Burgess, assisted by P.G.P. Bto. G. Bates as M.C. A hearty vote of thanks and appreciation was extended.to P.A. Bro. Geo. Ironside for having fulfilled his term as AD. He is to be presented with a framed PA diploma. The new officers, returned thanks for the honours they had received. Congratulations wero extended to the instalthv' officers on the excellent manner in which they conducted the installation. The Social Committee report was received regarding arrangements for a concert to he given by Miss Bessie Macdonald's pupils in the Choral Hall in Grand National Wcok, the proceeds to go to the Lodge Christmas tree funds. G.P. Bro. Collins delivered an address to the newly installed officers, wishing all a pleasant term of office.
