WELLINGTON SKIN AND HIDE SALES. Sales of tides, skins, and fallow were held at Wellington on Friday by the various brokers. There was a full attendance of exporters, fellmongers, tanners, asu the local trade. Competition generally was keen and well sustained. Since last report values for dry eheep skins depreciated by Jd to Id per lb., with the exception of halfbreda and fine crossbreds, which were about equal to late rates. Salties were lower by Is to Is 3d each. Some very attractive parcels of ox hides, all weights, were offered. s Specially prepared lots of heavies and light-weights showed an advance of |d per lb on previous quotations. Light-weights, kip, yearling, and calf sold well up to late rates. Cut, slippy, an <i inferior lots at times were hard to quit, and sold at low rates. Tallow was in fair demand and prices for good mixed lots were on a par with late rates. The following is the range of prices:— Sheepskins—Half bred, 11 Jd to K|d; fine crossbred, 13d medium to coarse crossbred, lOd to 12jd; short to half-wools, 8d to 14d; lambs, 8d to 15id; dead and damaged crossbred, 6|d to Hid; inferior and badly damaged, 3d to 7d; pelfs, 4d to IOJd damp, salted and green, 6s 7d to Us 9d: pelts, salted, Ss lOd to Gs 7d; lambs, salted, 4s to. 7s lid. Hides—Ox, heavy, 701b and over, 10d to lid; ox, heavy, 591b to 631b, 8d to 10Jd; ox, medium, 531b to 581b, 7d to B§d: ox, li°4rt, 4Slb to 521b, old to 7|d; cut, slippy and inferior, 4d to 7Jd; cow, heavy, 531b and over, 6Jd to Sid; cow, medium, 451b to 521b, 5Jd to ejd; cow, light, 331b to 441b, Sii to ejd; cut, Bhppy, and inferior, 3gd to 53d; bull, stag, 3|d to 4d; yearlings, 111b to 161b, 6d to BJd; yearlings, 171b to 321b, 5Jd to 7|d; calf, superior, up to lolb, 14id to 16d: calf, medium to cood, up to 101b, BJd to 13id: calf, damaged, up to 101b, Id to MA. ...
