Braff, a distinguished scholar, and for many yerxs Ward?n of Sydney University. Tho death occurred last week, of Mr A. J. Redgrave, an old and respected citizen of Nelson. The late Mr Redgrave was a retired Civil Servant, and had been stationed :it various places in New Zealand. Ho was a popular member of the Nelson Bowling Club, holding tho olSce of president in 1910. He was predecor.se> 1 by Mrs Rcdg'nvo fy •" or five yeirs ago. There is a jir.iwn-up family ;•? two daughters and three sons. 'J he daughters are Miss Kate and Miss Ethe! Redgrave, of Nelson ; and the sons Rev. F. Redgrave (who is at present on a visit to tho South Seas in connexion with mission work;: Mr .Frank Redgrave, of Hastings; and Mr Cecil Redgrave, of Central Otago. Cabled news has been received in Wangauui from Vancouver, announcing tho death or" -Mr 11. Baddeley. It is only about, six weeks ago since Mr Badfdeley left New Zealand accompanied by his son-in-law (Mr Norman Gibbons) for a trip to tho United States and the Old Land, intending to visit relatives in England. Ho was taken ill at Vancouver wi'h influeasa, which resulted in his death. < Mr Baddeley was well-known, and highly respected in Wjnganui. where, after leaving the Blnk of N.S.W., ho was for years engaged in auctioneering and la,nd agency business. On relinquishing his business, ha took tip farming pursuits at lakntihi. where h© was one of the original settlers.
