MAGISTERIAL. SATURDAY. (Before. Mr H. Y. "Widdowson, S.M.) DRUNKENNESS. For the second time within six months Robert Adams Murray, aged 31 years, pleaded guilty to a charge of drunkenness. He was convicted ind fined 20s, in de- ; fault three days' in gacl. A young woman and a middle-aged man, who each admitted a charge of drunkenness, , were convicted and fined 10s, in default 24 hours in gaol. A man, who had been bailed out of -the lock-up on a similar charge, was convicted and fined 20s, in default 48 hours in gaol. « JUVENILE COURT. The adjourned case,in which three boys from Sydenham were charged with having entered an empty two-storey house in thit suburb, and committed wilful damage and mischief, was dealt with. The Magistrate adjourned the case for twelve months, during which time the lads are to bo under the control of the Probation Officer, and he ordered that they each receive -a sound, thrashing. Their parents were each ordered to pay a portion of tho damage done is the house. ■; ■ STOLE SEVERAL BICYCLES. A boy, who is close on 16 years of. ap, admitted seven charges of having stolen various makes of men's bicycles. He Pleaded not guilty to two other charges of then of bicycle parts. After hearing the evidence, the Magistrate released the boy on probation for a period ol three years, during which time he is to be under the-control of the Probation Officer. Tho bicycles are to be returned to their respective owners. SMASHED ELECTRIC. BULBS. "He had two ehots at the bulbs and hit each time," said Acting Senior-Sergeant C. E. Roach, when a secondary school boy pleaded guilty to having smashed two street, bulbs value at 5s Cd, the P lo ** of the City Council. He was admonished and discharged, and his mother was ordered to pay the amount of the damage.
PEA RIFLE CONFISCATED. Two boys, both aged 15 years, admitted having been in possession of pea rifles Senior-Sergeant F. Lewin said that botU lads had been shooting rabbits hear the Shirley golf links recently, when * third boy had been accidentally shot in the shoulder and had to be removed to the Christchurch Hospital. The offenders were each ordered to pay the corts, 7s, and the one rifle (which they had* used between them) was forfeited.
