VALUE OF ADVERTISING.
RAILWAY DEPARTMENT'S NEW POLICY. Ab a war-timo economy, the Government made a considerable cut in its expenditure upon advertising, ans Departments which had previously conducted their own advertising were deprived of that right, which was handed over to the Department of Internal Affairs Having had restored to it the right to control its own publicity campaigii, the Railway Department ha? decided to embark upon a more liberal policy in the futuro. Advertisements in the public PfM* will be displayed in order rt o catch the eye of the reader, and as far as possible an effort will be made to insert notices m regard to in time-table etc., m one particular column of the same page, so that no difficulty may be exherienced in finding announcements in regard to'special trains, alterations in timetables, and other matters the Department wishes to notify. - - . •
