PARISHIONERS' MEETINGS.
IvAIKOURA. There was a moderate attendance at St Peter's Schoolroom on Wednesday night, on the occasion of the annual melting- of parishioners. The- Rev. C. F. Saunders presided, and extended a welcome to the Rev. Bartlett, of Nelson (organising secretary of the Cathedral fnrid). The churchwardens' report,and balancesheet, submitted by Mr Quelcli, showed receipts £461 3s Bd, expenditure £438 5s Id, leaving a credit ballhee of i"i2 3Cs 7d. Mr Quelcli stated that they had started (he year with a • deficit of £3O, and hid ended with a credit balance of £22. Thei bazaar had resulted in a gain of £lO6. The infantile parr.lysis restrictions had somewhat handicapped them, but they had been able to complete the purchase of the section by ths paying of £SO. The speaker said they must siriko out iind use every effort to secure thei £IOOO required for the vicarage fund. The Rev- C. F. Saunders rcport-ed that I here bad been 5'2 communion celebrations. 3 marriages; 12 baptisms, and 8 Burials! Services had been held regularly in the country districts, and lie was pleased to l>« able to report good congregations in each instance. Lynton Downs had made aspeclUly good progress. He regretted that in some ins'tAncaa the attendance at St. Peter's had not been what ifc might have been. Tho choir had been kept going, but they had lost tho Services of Messrs J. Carter and Fi. Fletcher. The year hr-d been a satisfactory one, but he hoped next year would prove even mora oaf . On tli© liiotion of the vicar, Mr 12. Grav was appointed vicar's warden. G-. Cates was appointed people's warden. Testrymen were" appointed as .follows Messrs "VST. Harle, F. "Warner, E. Clariugbold, F. Barnes, O. Stanford, —. Blackler, W. R. Lee'der, 11. .Qn'alch. A. Hancox, and 11. Gibson. Mr R. E. Foster was appointed auditor, Mr R. T. Pope said he would like to see an effort made to secure the usual amount for the Home Mission Fund. _ Owinef to tho epidemic restrictions the festivals liad not taken place, but ho considered funds should be collected to hand over to the Archbishop when visiting tho .district next month, fend iho -moved that- in appeal lw> mad® to parishioners to secure the necessary amount. . The. vicar said be had pleasure in offering £2 2s towards the fund. It wai 'decided to mike an appeal throughout the district.
