THE WEATHER. Meteorological objurations taken at the Magnetic Observatory, Christchurch, at 9.30 a.m. aoid 5 p.m. on April 30th:—

Indications are for moderate to strong easterly winds northwards of East Cap* and Kawhia, and: vaiikblo winds elsewhere, with northcrlins prevailing and freshening shortly; weather unsettled at times in the northern, West Cocst, and southernmost districts, hut fair to cloudy elsewhere. The Hvotqeter is falling goon.
