RIFLE SHOOTING.
TRENTHAM MEETING. (PXESS ASSOCIATION TELEGHAM.'; , TRENTHAM, April 30. Tho National Kifle Association's 1923 meeting, whioh was postponed on account of the infantile paralysis epidemic, opens to-morrow on the. Trenthym range. The weather t>night is fine. Compe liters, who already number just on SOO, are in camp, and the balance id arriving by late trains. The entrants include Simmonds (Wanganui), laßt year's double-event, champion (Service and Belt series), also the ex- hampiona Duncan, James, Jtilroy, and Ro-ts. Colonel R. Hughes is chief executive officer and Mr H. T. Marshall chairman of the Executive Committee, with Mr W. cs secretary, have all things ready for a start at 8.30 to-morrow morning. The days programme will comprise matches in the Service scries and. the opening ttatch of the ordinary target, which do:« not count for the Belt. If the weather holds, some very good shooting mav be expected, as the meeting just concluded in Gieytown produced exceedingly good scores.
