SECONDARY SCHOOLS' FOOTBALL.
RUGBY UNION DISCUSSION. When it was asked at last night's meeting of the management committee of tho Canterbury Rugby Union, if there were any fresh developments in the Christ College-Boys' High School match, Mr S. I\ Wilson said that he had himself seen the Rev. E. 0. Crosse, headmaster of the College on the matter. l
Mr Crosse was of tho same opinion as he had always been in the matter, and was against the principle of his boys playing on outside grounds. The position was unfortunate, but. the Union was fortunate in that so much enthusiasm and eucouragement were displayed towards Rugby in the schools. It was a pity that the competition hau fallen through this year, but. he understood that arrangements had been made whereby the boys were' getting plenty of football. "Much as we should like to see the game played at Lancaster Park," added Mr Wilson, "it is a matter for the master himself."
