His Honour Mr Justice Alpors was welcomed by a large gathering of the Auckland Law Society on his first visit to this citv in a judicial capacity. The vice-president of the society, Mr Johnson, offered congratulations and expressed .t, very warm and genuine welcome. His Honour said that though he could not hope to rise to tlio great heights attained by some of the great men who had preceded him on the Bench, lie hoped that ho could strive to emulate them in some o? their attributes and accomplishments.
