Hastings Bridge.
The vicar referred to the necessities in connexion with, St. Anna's Home, arid stated that the parish had been aaked to undertake' to provide £ls per annum towards the mantenance of the Home. He suggested that if a branch of St. Anne's Guild were formed there would he little difficulty in the amount being raised. Mr C. Hastings Bridge hoped that if anything were done in the matter, there would be no roduotion in the assistance given by the parish to St. Saviour's ageIt was decided to refer the matter to the vestry to advise ways and means of giving assistance. The ivicar moved votes of thanks' to many Church workere, and to the ■ vestry, which were agreed to.
ST. MARY'S, ADDINGTON. Tho annual meeting of -the parishioners of St. Mary's, Addington, held last night, was attended by about eighty. The vicar, the Rev. Canon W. S. Bean, presided. The vicar, in his report, expressed his warmest thanks for what the .parishioners had done during the past year in respect of tho finances of the Church: for the twentv-'nrst year in succession they had enabled tho Church officers to present a balance-sheet showing no liabilities of any kind. During tho year there were 74 baptisms, 32 .marriages, and 70 burials; 34 candidates (18 male and 16 female) were confirmed by tho Archbishon of New Zealand. The branch of the Mothers' Union consisted of 26 members; Mrs 'Bean was elected president.. Mrs Downing vice-presi-dent, and Mrs Hawkins secretary and tieasurer. Tho organi?.t, Miss Nora Macleodsinith was welcomed back from her.visit to England, Mi*s Packer was thanked for filling the position during her absence. The vicar was gladUto be able to announce that the -Hev. Frank Dunnage had been appointed to the charge of the portions of the Addington and 'Sydenham ■ parishes, and the parochial district of Spreydon. The annual report of the churchwardens and vestry stated that they were pleased to be able to show a balance to credit in general fund <f £lB 6a lid. On Festival Sunday the record offertory of £IOO 5a was made. Subseriotions -to the Church' fund amounted to £B3 lis 6d, and this ready response to tho wardens' appeal had been the means of enabling them to present a balance-sheet showing * satisfactory balanoe to credit. The vicar's stipend guarantee had now to bo £270, and they were pleased to be able to guarantee £2BO this year. They extended their congratulations to the vicar' and Mrs Bean, who had commenced; their thirty-third year in the parish. The report* and the balance-sheet were adoDted.
The vicar reappointed Mr S.,C. T. •T. Smith his churchwoxden; »nd Mr W. Pickerinff was re-elented people's warden. The following voetry was-elected: Messrs W. H. Griffith, F. Hsuicox, V. H. Line, J. Eurtt. W. F. Saunders, F. W. Cooper, and J. Smith. - The vicar moved votes of thanks to all Church workers, which' were accorded by acclamation
