THE NURSES' HOME.
TO THE BSITOR OF "THB PBESS." Sir, —Mr A. T. Smith, at Wooistoc, in answer to a question as to when he thought the Nurses' Home should go, while not saying definitely -v. here he thought its proper position was, left it so that anyone would have been very dense not to have seen where he would put it. He stated that the citizens by the interest they had shown in the matter recently, had put the Christchurch Hospital on the map now. He might also have said that if a programme was carried out on the lines proposed by the Beautifying Association to provide a riverside walk, which would show up the Hospital grounds to the public to advantage, it would, in addition to placing the Hospital more vividly upon the map, have created something delightful to look upon. These programmes, with the Nurses Home, placed where it should go. would turn what is now a disgrace to the City into a bright spot, which could be made a joy and a pleasure both to the nurses and the public, a thing to be proud *>f. And v. bile credit is due to citizens for the interest shown, I think' those mostly responsible are the Beautifying Association, seeing that thev first_ pointed out the possibilities of beautifying at the Hospital. The public surely owe them thanks for so doing.—Tours, etc.. CITIZEN. Auril 27th. 1935.
