The seriousness of the industrial stagnation, largely due to foreign competition, is reflcctod in tho decision of the shipbuilding unions to join the employers in investigating means of reviving the industry. The British Miners' Federation is holding a national conference at Blackpool on May 30, to receive the report from the employers' and men's committee on steps to revive the industry. The same aiceting -will discuss a proposal to restore the Triple Alliance.
