BULGAR REVOLT.

MISLEADING REPORTS.

M.P.'S TAKEN TO TASK.

(BY CABLE —PHESS ASSOCIATION—COFnUOHT.) (AUSTBALIAX AXD X.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATIOS.)

SOnA, April 26

A painful impression has been caused by the statement, alleged to have been made to foreign Press representatives by the British Labour members of Parliament. Colonel Wedgwood, Mr W. Mackinder. and Lieut.-Colonel Lestrange Malone, who spent a few days here after the explosion in the cathedral. A semi-official statement declares that their statements are exaggerated and enoneous. The number of people arrested in the whole country is 2000, and those arrested were directly implicated in Communist activities or suspected of participation. The number killed was not hundreds, but only a few who refused to surrender.

It is alleged that the visitors were displeased because they were not allowed to interview the imprisoned leaders of the conspiracy.

The Agrarian leaders have been released, as it has been established that they are not implicated in the Communist conspiracy. About a hundred others have also been released. Counsel for the Ciown stated that as a result of the confessions of accomplices it has been established that besides the Cathedral outrage AgrarianCommunists planned several other attempts in Sofia and provinces, including attacks on the Sobranje and the central post and telegraph office, but the plans did not materialise owing to the stern measures of the military authorities.

It is estimated that 200,000,000 levawill be needed to repair the cathedral and to relieve the injured and the families of the dead.
