CHRIST'S COLLEGE-HIGH SCHOOL MATCH.
TO Tw. F.DITOH or "TFTE TRESS.'
i • , gi r> —As an old stager who has followed football for m great many years, I wish to cn press niy entire approval 'iiid admiration of the attitude taken 'ap by Mr Crosse, the College headmaster, in relation to the annual football match. For a gi'oao many years the annual game between the two schools was played on tho ground of cacti schooi, alternately, and, needless to tay, admission was tree. During the plate war tho Heads of the two schools igreed to allow the match to be playtd at Lancaster Park—the ''gate'' to go to one of the many War Charities < then extant. There v. a,s an understanding, however, that this was otuy a temporary arrangement for tho duration of the war—but unfortunately, "(be match was played for several years '"after tho cessation of hostilities. ' Now that Mr Crosse wishes to revert <'to tho old order of tilings I consider ■fthat he is quite, within, his rights in "'' 'doing so, and in desiring to keep the ' control or the school games in his own. hands. ours, etc., WD ' Apr'l 2oth, 192-").
