RICCARTON MUNICIPAL ELECTION.
TO THE EDITOE OF "THE PRESS.** Sir—As one who attended the meeting of tho Riecarton Labour Party on Wednesday evening, I was thoroughly disappointed with the policy asset forth by the Labour candidates. Truo Us that a long time has elapsed since Labour occupied a municipal seat at Kiecarton; and little wonder, if tho R ccarton ratepayers arc expected to take seriously the policy outlined on Wednesday. ' Regarding tho rating system, it was stated by the candidates that tho maximum general rate was levied. This wild statement was chaleiieed, and admitted by the candidates to be Wrong. I accept their apology. Then thei credit the borough with having the best lighting system in the Dominion, and also a capable and efficient electrical engineer Still further, they praise the .present Council in their endeavour to get assistance from the Highways Board, with reference to the upkeep of Riecarton road, and rightly so So much in favour of the Citizens' Association. But where is the Labour Party's policy?
