Unveiling of War Memorial At a meeting of the War Memorial Com : mittee held on Tuesday evening, it was decided to unveil the memorial to-morrow, at 10.15 a.m. The Hon. Sir Heaton Rhodes has been asked to perform the ceremony, and the religious service will be conducted by the Rev. S. Parr, and the Rev. Speer. The combined church choirs will sing the hymns, "Abide With Me"' and "0 God Our Help in .Ages Past," and the Last Post will be sounded. The monument is to be dedicated to "All those who fell in the-.Great War,." and will have inscribed on it the names of 21 men from the district who sacrificed their. lives. Invitations have been issued to relatives and friends of fallen soldiers, and those desiring to place wreaths at the foot of the monument may do so. Arrangements have been: made for the entertainment of visitors. Dance. A dance was held in the Club Hall on Wednesday evening in aid of the No. 4 Queen of the- Woolston Carnival. Music was supplied by Mr L. Withers and Messrs .J. Oordner and W. Perkins acted as M.O.'s. Domain Board. The annual..general meeting of the Domain Board was held on Tuesday evening. Present: Messrs Flavell (chairman), Gates (secretary), Scott, McDowell and Lester. The statement of accounts was produced showing a credit balance of £22, which was considered very satisfactory. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as-fol-lows: —Chairman. Mr 0. Flavell; secretary, Mr T. Gates. It was resolved to erect double gates at the Hills road entrance and to renew the trees in the plot on the shelter belt at the top end, of the domain. Personal. Miss M. Perkins left for Hokitilca on Tuesday morning to spend a few days with her brother, the Rev. .J. Perkins. Mrs J. Walsh, of Auckland, has come to look after her invalid mother, Mrs W. Evanß, during Miss Perkins's absence. Miss L. Berry, the newly appointed assistant mistress at the school, has arrived' in the district and taken up her duties.
