left Patea on Tuesday morning for ■Wellington, and will bo placed on the Patent Slip there for inspection. The Federal S.N. Company has been advised that the Paparoa. is. to leave Now York on May 10th with cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. The A. and A. Lino steamer City of Bristol is expected to leave "Wellington to-dny for Lyttelton and Dunedin to complete disohargo of her New York cargo. The C. and D. liner Port Brisbane left Wellington on Monday evening for Wanganui to continue her loading. The vessel is to leave Wanganui ' to-morrow for Timaru and Lyttelton, and will later return hero to complete her cargo. The A. and A. Line agency has received a wireless message from the steamer Puriri, stating that the vessel expects to reach Auckland this afternoon from New York. She is due at Wellington about May sth. The motor ship Enton arrived at Auckland on Monday from Antwerp, with 8000 tons of basic slag. The vessel, which is to the agency of the New Zealand Shipping Company, will discharge part of her cargo at Auckland, and will then proceed to New Plymouth to put out the remainder. An arrival at Auckland on Tuesday afternoon was the Shaw-Savill liner Athenic, from Southampton. After putting out part of her cargo at Auckland the Athenic will proceed to Port Chalmers and Bluff for discharging «.nd loading. She will subsequently take in cargo at Timaru, Lyttelton, and Wellington, and is to sail finally from Wellington about May 24th for Southampton and London, via Panama.

The watersiders to-day refused to work discharging the steamer Enlon, which is loaded with basic slag, owing to their demand for extra pay being declined. The Kakapo also remains idle.

The Wanaka sailed yesterday afternoon for Dunedin, after discharging northern cargo. The Canadian Conqueror is due from Lyttelton this morning to discbarge American cargo, and load return cargo for United States ports. She- Till sail for Duncdin on Friday. The Karori should arnvc from Westport to-day to discharge coal, and will later proceed to Dunedin. . The Union Company expect the Kairanga to arrive from Duncdin to-morrow, with Australian hardwood polea. She will sail in the evening for Wellington. Tho Breeze is due tomorrow from Oamaru to load general produce for Lyttelton, Wellington and. Wanganui.
