GERALDINE.
On Wednesday night Miss Farnie held her first meeting in connexion with the Literary Class of the Workers' Educational Association, when there was a large attendance. The Geraldine County Council submitted a proposal to the ratepayers for the authorisation of a loan amounting to £16,000 for the erection of bridges, .and the ivoting resulted 341 for and" '336 against, the proposal being rejected, as it was not favoured by a threefifths majority.
