INFANTILE PARALYSIS.
LATEST NOTIFICATIONS. At noon yesterday only one notification of a case of suspected infantile paralysis had been •notified: — Girl, 3 years, Eoyal street, Timaru. Between noon and 10 p.m. yesterday no notifications of infantile paralysis were made to the Health Authorities in <Christ«hurch. The Opening of the Schools, Most of the district high .schools throughout the Canterbury district reopened yesterday. Enquiries from the various headmasters show that in every case thero was a good response, the percentage at each of the schools being over 90 per cent, of the total roll. Such of the boarding schools as have been reopened are also experiencing a satisfactory answer to the roll-call, though the shortness of the notice has prevented pupils from a distance putting in an appearance so far. Beearding the reopening of the primary 6 schools, the Medical Officer of Health had no information on the subicct vestcrday, and stated that the matter was one that Cabinet would decide.
DOMINION NOTIFICATIONS. (PEESS JISSOCUTIOK IBLBOBAH.) WELLINGTON, April 21. Onlv fivo notifications of cases of infantile paralysis have been received bv the Health Department for the twenty-four hours ended 9 a.m. to-day: —Manure-H-a 1; Christchurch 1; Waitohi ]-*Temuka 1; VTestport 1. The suspected, case at Paremata is now stated not to be one of infantile paralysis.
