During tho week-end the Norch Beach Tenuis Club completed tho first rounds of the Stringer Cup competition for combined doubles, and also the Scott 'Service Cup competition for men's doubles. For the Scott Service Cup the results" were: Christiansen and Penfold heat Jones and Ureu (ftr) 1-G, 6-1, G-l; Bowles find Hodder (owe lot beat otamp ■ and ■McOillivray (owe ].5) C-4, G-l; Brown and Peppier (owe 40) beat Henry and Scott (rec. 15) G-2, 6-2. For the Stringer Cup the results were: McGiKivray and Miss Harriot a bye; Christiansen and Mm Christiansen beat Baggs and Misa "drown 9-8: Hcdder and Mrs Buchanan beat Hampton and Miss Gumming- 9-:!: Peppier Hnd Mn Peppier heat Jones and Miss McColl 9-7; Cramp and Mrs Cranio beat XJien imd Mr? Uren ft-4; Henry ar.d Miss Lui?"tti belt Penfoid and Mrs Pen fold 9-1; Homer and Mis 3 Hart!c beat Bowles and Mrs Bowl's 9-3. An accident betell a boy nimed I»n Wm.mott, of Jubilee avenue, la=t Saturday mornin«r. He was helping a friend to gather firewood when 110 cut hi* foot with Iho tomahawk he was using. Tho lad was con-, vov'ed to Dr. Stevens's surgery, v.-here three stitches had to bs inserted. A conference of tho toaciiTa from Aortn Ueach. Main, and South Brighton schools is to be held in tho Main Brighton School to-morrow, when it is hoped en interchange of will be helpful to thcac concerned.
