AQUATICS.

UNION ROWING CLUB. During the past week the preliminary heats of the Union Club' 3 President's Cup were rowed. Five had entered a | month hack, and had been rractising with fair consistency. On the whole, the standard of the racing was good. The results wer>s as follows: — ' E. C. Baker, W. Duggan, F. Rogers, and L. Donnelly heat F. Home, J. M. Bellj C. Watson, and• G. W. A'Court. Baiker, after Retting away badly, took the lead at Cowlishaw's corner, and won by a length and a half. , , , G Duggan, C. S. "Ward., T. Clusholm, and F. C. Foster beat L. Duggan. W. Greenway, H. L. Bush, and A. Rogers. The two boats raced neck-and-neck to Cowlish&w s, where a foul took place, L. Duggan taking G. Duggan's water, aad the roc© was awarded to G. Duggan's crew. . A. BeardEley, W. "VVhittmgton, R. Harbison, and J. T. .McGee had a bye. In the semi-final, G. Duggan's crew defeated Beardsley's. Beardsle;, 1 - led to hallway. but from then on Duggan's crew, showing better form, drew away and won by two lengths. Final—This was rowed on Saturday afternoon, and was a splendid race, between G. Duggan's crew and 12. C. Baker's. The two boats raced together the, greater part of the distance, and the. Jfsult was. in doubt up- to Stanmore road bridge, where • Baker jus'i got ahead and won. by a quarterlength. The following crews .haws entered .for Ins Life Members' Cup (cloubl? bculls) :—R. Tho following crews will repre3ent the club at the Redcliffs regatta on December 13th:—Maiden Doubles: L. Duggan, H. L. Bush. Junior Doubles: L. C. Byers, C. S. Ward. Youths' Four: F. Duggan, A.
