According to the latest report of the Tax Commissioner for the Commonwealth, 13 individuals in one year had incomes between £50,C00 and £IOO,OOO each. The report does not name but it shows that among them they made £855,323 in the year —or an average income of. £65,794. Here are the numbers of taxpayers in the various grades from £IO,OOO a vear to £50.000: £IO,OOO to £20,000, 248; £20,000 to £30,000, 38; £30,000 to £40,000, 15; £40,000 to £50,000, 8. The people in Australia who make £lOOl to £1250 a year are numbered as 7305.
