HEATHCOTE NEWS.
A special meeting of the School Committee ■was held on Saturday evening, there being present : Messrs W. HadcliSa (chairman), R. 'Shrimpton (secretary), C. J. Ashley, J. McVinnie, H. 'Jackson, and W. Jofcins'toii. It was decided to hold the school picnic at Dunsandel in February and to combine with the Opawa School for the train arrangements. Messrq Shrimpton and Radcliffe were elected -' a; deputation to confer with the .Opawa Committee. _ ■ ' Subsequent, to the committee meetintr, a meeting, of the householders was ■ held to make arrangements for the Flower Show, to be held in February. There was only a fair attendance. The following were elected officers ,of the Show,' stallholders to bo elected at the next meeting:—Ohairman, Mr W. Badcliffe; secretary, Mr R. Shrimpton; assistant secretary, Mr F. E. O'Flynn. It was lesolved to invite Mr W. Jones to judge the floral and vegetable sections and Mr Norton the cooking. The schedule was drawn "up, final arrangements being left with Mr EadclifTe. The tennis team had. a substantial win on Saturday against Yaidhurst, on]y three sets being lost. The Bowling Club weTe juat defeated by Beckenham on Saturday after ft most excit* ing game.
