Swimming. Tha Lyfffciton Ladies' Swimming Club opened the season at Corsair Bay on Saturday afternoon. The Mayor (Mr W. T. Lester) declared the season open. There was a good' attendance of members and friends. Tho results of the racing were as follows: 25yds Club Handicap—Phyllis Plimmer (7sec) 1, Violet Gower (Bsec) 2, Merle Miller (scr) 3. 50yds Club Handioap—Hilda Goodmanson (ISsec) 1, Rita Bundy (23sec) 2, Merle Miller (scr) .3. . 25yds Handicap—Margeiy Hunter 1, Ron&. Shadbolt 2, Noeline Curtis 3. After the racing those present were entertained at afternoon tea. Harbour light Theatre. There will be no pictures St the Harbour Light 'Theatre to-night. Instead, the renowned Dixie Jubilee Singers will appear in their entertainment of songs,' part-singing, harmonising, plantation melodies, and humorous items. This talented organisation have been playing to big hquses nightly at Wellington and - Christchurch. The reserve plan is at Hatton's.
