Amid the welter of the meat prices controversy, the fact is generally emerging that tho present enhancement of values is largely seasonal, arising out of the law of supply and demand. Some retailers give detailed figures showing that their profit yesterday was 12 J per cent., whereas 10 per ocnt. is needed to show a margin-over handling charges. But in numerous cases the profits were much higher.
