The number cf sales reported cn the various, Stock Exchanges is a good weekly average, and the business has be6n spread over most classes of Stock Exchange security, although Government loang and bank shares have again attracted the bulk of the recorded business. In Government Loans the 4J per cent, stocks, due in 1938, changed
Hand's at £97 103.and £97 7s 6d, the 1939 at £97 10s, and the bonds due in 1930,. 1938, and 1939 at £97 10s, .which is on a. par with previously recorded transactions. Five per cent. Post Office Stock due in 1929 was placed at £9B and £97 10s, as against business a fortnight ago at £97 15s. Kecorded turnover o£ the 5J per .cent, stock, due 1927-41 at £9S .10s, shows an. easing of ss, as compared with a fortnight ago. Eive.and.a half per cent. Soldiers' . Settlement Loan Stock, due in 1933, was. dealt in at £lOl 10s, as against last week's sales at £lOl 10s and £lOl, and a fortnight ago at £lOl 7s 6d, and more is wanted at £lOl Is 6d,. with quoted ; sellers at £lOl 10a. ... Electrolytic Zinc deferred ordinary shares were placed at 24s and 24s 9d as compared with 24s 3d a fortnight ago, and late sellers arc asking lias with declared buyers at 245.
