PIGEON FLYING.
The Canterbury Pigeon Flying Glub, flevr their second race from Marton recently. Fiftyeix birds were tent, divided amongst 16 ownera. Tha birds were liberated by the stationmiaster at 7.80 a.m., in fine -weather, but through unknown sources only eight birds arrived on the day. The winning bird, Bon Blue, owned by Mr G. Robertson, flew the distance of 281 miles GB3 yards in the good tiras of 7 hours llniin Gsec, The following arc tho Jesuits;— Yds. permin. Mr G. Robertson's Bon Blue .. 1160 Mr li. Wiltshire's Bonnie Cliiel 1317 Mr H. Peareon's Betty .. 891 Mr E. Clark's Martin Eattler 839 Mr A. Jones's Whitewings .. 833 Mr P. Chambers's No. 334 .. 80G Mr G. Robertson wins tho special aominated bird prize.
