MISCELLANEOUS CABLES.
At the inquest on Samuel Peter Wyche, tram driver, who was killed in the tram smash on the Cromtlla route (Sydney) on November 10th, William Thompson, conductor, gave evidence that just before the accident the tram travelled down the steep hill, between 200 and 300 yards long, at about 20 miles an hour. That was the usual speed on tlutt decline. He noticed nothing unusual in the speed before the derailment. Be had been on the line for 13 years. -Expert evidence was given by members of the staff of tlie tramway department, after which the Coroner returned a verdict of accidental death.
The Full Court in Sydney dismissed the application on behalf of Alderman Walker for a rule nisi prohibiting the Cropley. enquiry from proceeding. „ The Commission will now continue its investigation.
