Messrs S. C. Sherrard and F. H. Mathews had been appointed to repreaent the Troop on tho Association. It was agreed to iifEliato the Tioop, and to set up a Sea, Soout Committee, to consist of the Commissioner and two representatives from the LytteUou and SumnerRedclifis Troops of Sea Scouts. Messrs H. J.' Marriner ' (convener) and'S- C. Sherrard were appointed on the committee. Olds wae finding hie duties somewhat too exacting,' and that they were taking up rather too much of his" time. They did not want to lose, hi: services, and with, a little help' Mr Olds could carry on. After some discussion it was decided to appoint Scoutmaster J. E. Colechin as Assistant District Scoutmaster. . ... 'The resignation of Mr Hyde, Scoutmaster St. Michael's Troop, who is leaving Christchurch, was accepted, and it was. decided to recommend him to any troop requiring a scoutmaster in the' district ho intends to reside in. , ' _..,,. Tho appointment of Mr i±. J. Williams sb acting-scoutmaster .was confirmed. • It was decided to inform Dominion HeSiaiiarters that the .boundary of tho Association's district was a radius of ten mile's from-the chief post ofSco. With reference to the two" tents awarded the Addington Troop a year or two ago for selecting'the'best site for the Easter camp, but which had not b?en given owing to lack of funds, it was decided to provido ono this year "and the other next year. D.S.M. Oldo, in iis report for tho month, referred to tho rally on the Show Grounds on the 13th inst., and stated that tho manner in which tho Scours and' Scoutmasters had co-operated to muse it a success was splendid. The conduct of the boys had been particularly commendable. It was decided to s<sk scoutmasters-to convey to the Scouts tne executive's appreciation of their services. Votes of thanks were also accorded Dr. T. Beveridge Davis and the Salvation Army Boys' Band for their assistance in • connection with the Show Grounds jra-llv. D.S.M. Olds announced that a conference of ecouters' would t>e held on December 9th. The Christmas .patrol camp was fixed to open on January Ist. Mr Bishop spoke of the necessity for extending the movement, and said thai while the wo>k wa3 progressing favourably, Ghristchurch was lagging behind as compared with Auckland, which had 1200 Scouts; Wellington 850, and likely to be 2000. before long; Christchurch had only returned 230 Scouts. He was nrroly cf opinion, he added, that every church should have a troop of Boy Scouts connected with it, D.S.M. Olds said that-they could not m2ke a move in the direction' indicated till they had more ecouters, arid that could not be done' till they had a list of former Scouts. District Kovermastwr' Tooth said that they wanted the assistance cf those who had the scirit of scouting—the former members of troops. -They wanted a Scout Old Boys' Association, and he appealed to scouters .to supply the secretary with the names of former Scouts, so that a meeting could hs called' to ths axxsriitj'nu
