DUNEDIN, November 20,

To-day the ratepayers of tho city were asked to record their votes in favour of or against the proposal of tho CJity Council to raise a loan of £BO,OOO to provide the necessary expenditure to lav down a highway between Anzac square and Logan Park, and to improve the park area. The proposed expenditure has been allocated as £42,000 to provide the highway, and £38,000 to drain Logan Park to fit it as a public park and playing area for the city. The poll created a considerable amount of interest. A large number of committees had been set up, and these worked hard in tho interests of the proposal, which was carried hy. a majority of 1414, the figures being:— For 3518 Against ... ... 2104 Majority for ... 1414 There are approximately 19,676 names of voters on the ratepayers' register.
