DIXIE JUBILEE SINGERS

CHANGE OF PROGRAMME. A partially new programme was put on by .the Dixie Jubilee Singers at the Caledonian Hall last -night, and proved very acceptable to the laTge audience present. The part-singing by the lull company accounted for very many of the items. The choruses were given with life and brightness and were all hugely enjoyed. The basso, Mr'lV. C. Buckner, was the leading soloist, and songs from him were in strong demand. ' "Old Black Joe' was called- for by special request, and Mr Buckner obliged the many enthusiasts by singing that favourite number. Mr Buckner also recited "The Coloured' Soldier" by the negro poet, Mr Paul L. Dunbar. Mr L. A. Morris," one of the tenors, in addition to his vocal work, gave a comedy monologue and drew some caricatures. Mr 0. C. 0. Como, the first tenor, t£so jave a monologue, ""When ■ Malihdi Sings." The leading concerted numbers were-"Roll Jordan Roll," "Ding Dong Belle,; "Be Ready "When the Great Day Comes," "Hallelu" and "Hear Dem Bells." The company will appear again to-night.
